Back to 1956, Pt. 4

With this shot of the short-lived Disneyland Circus, I naturally zoomed right in on the signage; here is a closeup for you:

I have also included a close-up for Merlin of the Blacksmith Shop area that he requested yesterday.

See more vintage and contemporary Disneyland photos at my main website.

Note the oval sign on the right indicating the 'Omnibus Stop'. Nice picture. Thanks for sharing.

"Jungle Killers"

My hometown of Newbury Park, CA, had one of the earliest CA theme parks called Jungleland. (http://www.junglelandskates.com/website/html/history.html)
They shut it down after J.Mansfield's kid got mauled, prior to Newbury Park becoming a real town. It was featured in an episode of Route 66.

Dave the first photo is of the Circus tent left over from the Mickey Mouse Club Circus. At this time as the sign states it was home to Professor George J. Keller and his Feline Fantasticos. There is a great postcard of him with his lions. Pictures of the tent at this time period are actually more rare than of the Mickey Mouse Club Circus time period.
