Wednesday WOW: Frontierland plaque, opening day

There was quite a bit going on for the ABC TV cameras on Opening Day, July 17, 1955. Part of the ceremonies included the unveiling of this plaque from the American Humane Association to Walt Disney.

And the plaque today, which appears to have been replaced at some point:

Neat rare photo Dave, thanks! Where is the plaque today, is it in front of the Pendleton shop in that tree planter area?? I wonder why it was replaced? Do you know if the dedication plaque in town square (at the flag pole) is the original?

By gum, it IS different now. I can't even imagine why it would have been replaced, unless it had become worn (or somebody defaced it).
